Culinary Instructor, American Academy of Culinary Arts at Pittsburgh Technical College
Jill Kummer has a strong background in Food & Beverage Management. Having completed her internship with the Walt Disney Company, she graduated with a degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. At present, she is a culinary instructor at Pittsburgh Technical College as well as Westmoreland County Community College. Her interest in sustainable culinary programs including restaurant operations, kitchens and the “farm to table” movement, drives her constant quest to bring the most innovative and current programs to her students.
She is a successful serial entrepreneur and the former owner and president of Blacktie-Pittsburgh, an event support company for nonprofit organizations that provided a “soup to nuts” turnkey approach to event planning and execution. A published author of two event management books, she has married her love of culinary, food and beverage and events into an awesome career.
At present she is also the Bailli (President) of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Chaine des Rotisseurs, the oldest Food and Wine Society in the world. In December of 2019, she was elected to a four-year term on the Board of the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Pittsburgh Chapter.
She currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her Field Spaniel Cocoa, and McKenna, a very rambunctious Golden Retriever.
